Pistol

Pistol is a 22 year old Tennessee Walking Horse gelding who was a trail horse in his former life.

Pistol’s owner sadly began to experience age-related complications, including ‘forgetting’ to feed his horses. His veterinarian stepped into the gap and asked if we might possibly have a soft landing for this horse she’d known for years upon years. Thanks to a willing foster, we were able to say ‘yes’ and Pistol is now in weight gain rehabilitation, receiving not only food, but daily grooming and love.

Pistol will remain with Safe Harbor in our sanctuary program for as long as he is comfortable, enjoying a safe retirement on a small farm in the heart of walking horse country.

We would greatly appreciate sponsors to assist with his monthly feed, hay, and farrier costs. *He currently eats Co-Op Pinnacle Senior, soaked alfalfa cubes, and locally grown hay.
